One thing that I do love about Jay Cross's conference coverage - even conferences in which he is involved - is that he is deeply honest. Jay was at and involved in recent e-Learning Guild Gathering 2006 (he ran an Informal Learning Zone). His blog coverage of the event included this piece:
"My Informal Learning Zone scored mixed results. For a host of reasons, participants didn't know what was going on in the zone. I had some great, in-depth learning conversations but most of the time, the zone was empty."
I think that level of honesty is absolutely critical to building a new breed of conferences that will be more colaborative, more engaging and ultimately more productive for attendees. Kudos Jay.
