How to Drive Usage on Your Wiki -

This is an interesting site that contains a library of "wikipatterns" - essentially a series of use cases that you can employ to explain the benefits of a wiki or learn how to work within an organization to spur the adoption of a wiki. There is the tried and true "Champion" pattern and "Intentional Error" pattern.

One thing that shows some thought is that they include "Anti-Patterns" as well so that you can be aware of possible modes of resistance to your wiki-based efforts. There are both people and adoption anti-patterns such as Wiki Trolls and Overrun By Camels.

  • "The hallmark of revolution is that the goals of the revolutionaries cannot be contained by the institutional structure of the society they live in. As a result, either the revolutionaries are put down, or some of those institutions are transmogrified, replaced, or simply destroyed. We are plainly witnessing a restructuring of the music and newspaper businesses, but their suffering isn’t unique, it’s prophetic." --Clay Shirky
