DevLearn 2007 Update

Small_devlearn_guide So I'm all back from DevLearn 2007 and in my book, it was a great success. But what do I know, I've only been to about a gagillion conferences in the past decade or so. I mean what should little metrics like great attendance, engaged audience and great speakers have to do with a conference being deemed a 'success' right? :-) (p.s. I stole that pic from Brent but you can see a bunch of them here.)

I also wanted to point to a really exciting announcement from the e-Learning Guild regarding their world-class 360 Reports. Essentially what they have done is made some incredibly rich resources available for oh, like free. The Associate level membership in the Guild is free and joining at that level gets you a laundry list of things; the two best in my book being complete access to every current issue of Learning Solutions e-Magazine PLUS the entire 235 issue archive. You also get access to outstanding 360 Degree reports on things like Immersive Learning Simulations, Mobile Learning, Authoring Tools and Measuring Success. Now you don't get access to the live data associated with the surveys for each report but you know what that access will run you? Yeah, a huge $99 (U.S.) a year.

...OK...more posts to come today...

  • "The hallmark of revolution is that the goals of the revolutionaries cannot be contained by the institutional structure of the society they live in. As a result, either the revolutionaries are put down, or some of those institutions are transmogrified, replaced, or simply destroyed. We are plainly witnessing a restructuring of the music and newspaper businesses, but their suffering isn’t unique, it’s prophetic." --Clay Shirky
