docstoc and scribd - put your conference planners there

Docstoc Look, I know the deal. Sponsors and advertisers pay a good bit of money to have Scribd_2 their ads included in those big, thick conference planners, I get it. So let's use scribd and docstoc to preserve the ability to include that kind of revenue stream for conferences and yet cut down on the default number of trees, etc used in the creation of these planners.

I think advertisers would actually get more bang for their buck from this....I mean I almost never take those things home with me so your advertising is only in place for as long as I am at the conference - where you probably also have a booth and sales people etc but as soon as we leave - the ad dollar is dead. Leave it up online...people will refer to it before, during and after..more eyeballs...better ROI...

Quoth he...

  • "The hallmark of revolution is that the goals of the revolutionaries cannot be contained by the institutional structure of the society they live in. As a result, either the revolutionaries are put down, or some of those institutions are transmogrified, replaced, or simply destroyed. We are plainly witnessing a restructuring of the music and newspaper businesses, but their suffering isn’t unique, it’s prophetic." --Clay Shirky
