  • "The hallmark of revolution is that the goals of the revolutionaries cannot be contained by the institutional structure of the society they live in. As a result, either the revolutionaries are put down, or some of those institutions are transmogrified, replaced, or simply destroyed. We are plainly witnessing a restructuring of the music and newspaper businesses, but their suffering isn’t unique, it’s prophetic." --Clay Shirky

Mark, my experience is similar, but I'm really trying to keep blogging. I see them serving different needs: Twitter is more STM: in the moment. Blog is more reflection, deeper thought. And I find valuable outcomes from the latter that are different. Hope you keep up both, as I've found value in your contributions in both channels!

This post resonates with my own experience. My last blog post dates back to October... when I started becoming really addicted to Twitter. Twitter has become so much more interactive since then. People are sharing resources and ideas, and that's what I love about it. And I don't mind the "went to the store" tweets: it makes me feel closer to these folks. It makes then more humans.

2 trends have gotten me more involved in Twitter than previously:

- increase in conversation between the tweeters. Esp among folks I have already talked to either online or in person or both.

- Retweets and link sharing to things I wouldn't run into otherwise.

Strangely - when I tweet, I am now getting my personal facebook friends involved. Even in the education discussions. My comments to my status in Facebook has increased dramatically. Who knew...
