"Exploit posted for Microsoft JPEG flaw"

Customers are urged to install software updates

Computer code that takes advantage of a flaw in the way many Microsoft (Profile, Products, Articles) Corp. applications process JPEG images has been published on the Internet and could be a precursor to actual attacks on vulnerable PCs, experts said.

The code was published late last week, only days after Microsoft on Tuesday revealed the "critical" vulnerability and made available patches to fix the problem. Any application that processes JPEG images could be vulnerable. A wide range of Microsoft software, including versions of its Windows and Office products, are vulnerable.

PC Users Warned of Infected Web Sites

Please read for the whole story - it is important - but I will treasure this paragraph for awhile...

"CERT recommends that Internet Explorer users consider different browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Netscape Communicator or Opera. For people who continue to use Internet Explorer, CERT and Microsoft recommend setting the browser's security setting to "high."

I will also urge you all to take advantage of this chance to try out these other FREE browsers - post comments here if you need help whatever - but I know you'll be impressed.
